Erika and Fred
Erika came and went so fast that I did not have time to post anything.
As of Sept. 16, 2009, Fred has developed and fizzled more than once. However, the remnants of Fred (a low pressure system) is about to enter an area (near the Bahamas) that is favorable for re-development.
Whatever Fred becomes will probably impact South Florida by Sept. 20. I will monitor this and post an update.

Ana, Bill, Claudette and Danny
While I was away from the computer:
T.S. Claudette struck the Florida panhandle and work northwestward before dissipating.
T. S. Ana dissipated over the Caribbean Islands and caused heavy rains in Florida.
Hurricane Bill headed north toward Newfoundland before becoming extra-tropical in the north Atlantic.
T.S. Danny formed in the Atlantic about 445 miles East of the Bahamas on 8/26.

2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season
The 2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season starts on June 1.
However, Tropical Storm #1 formed in the mid Atlantic well off the US coast and quickly sped off to the Northeast and was not a threat to any land.
