Hurricane Ike

Ike is expected to make landfall along the Texas coast by late Friday night (9/12) as a Category 2 or Category 3 hurricane between the Freeport-Lake Jackson area and Galveston, Texas. A higher than usual water level rise will happen due to the large size of Hurricane Ike.

Ike will have a greater impact to the North and East of the Center at landfall. Watch for severe flooding along the Texas and Louisiana coast closest to the landfall area.

The next update to this blog will be on Monday, 9/15.
