Tropical Storm laura

Tropical Storm Laura with winds of 60 mph was located about 435 miles south-southeast of Newfoundland. The storm was moving toward the north at 13 mph and is expected to turn toward the north-northeast and forward speed will increase

Laura is expected to weaken as it moves over colder water.

Hurricane Kyle

Hurricane Kyle Kyle should make landfall in Nova Scotia this evening. This afternoon, Hurricane Kyle was located about 230 miles SW of Halifax.

Kyle had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph and was moving toward the NNE at about 24 mph.

Kyle is moving over colder waters and should weaken this evening.

Tropical Storm Kyle

Tropical Storm Kyle has formed east of the Bahamas and pretty far southwest of Bermuda. Kyle has winds of 45 mph and may impact Bermuda on Friday.

Meanwhile, a strong low pressure system is moving toward the NC/SC Coastline tonight. This storm may become subtropical later this evening and will be moving toward the New Jersey coast. High Surf is expected from Florida northward to New Jersey.

Hurricane Ike

While I was away, Ike made landfall and is now just a terrible memory.
In Texas, nearly, 2,000 people had to be rescued from the wreckage of their homes.

At least 18 people were killed as a result of Ike traveling across 10 states from Texas to Pennsylvania.

Hurricane Ike

Ike is expected to make landfall along the Texas coast by late Friday night (9/12) as a Category 2 or Category 3 hurricane between the Freeport-Lake Jackson area and Galveston, Texas. A higher than usual water level rise will happen due to the large size of Hurricane Ike.

Ike will have a greater impact to the North and East of the Center at landfall. Watch for severe flooding along the Texas and Louisiana coast closest to the landfall area.

Hurricane Ike

Hurricane Ike made landfall late Sunday evening (9/8), in Cuba. The storm weakened to a Category 1 hurricane.

Ike is forecast to re-strengthen and move into the southeast Gulf of Mexico late Tuesday or early Wednesday. This storm is dangerous and interests in the Gulf coast should be alert.

Tropical Storms: Hanna, Ike & Josephine

Tropical Storm Hanna is moving toward the NE at about 28 MPH. The center of Hanna is expected to cross the Mid-Atlantic states and move into the Canadian Maritime Provinces during the day Sunday, 9/7.

Hurricane Ike is expected to pass over the Turks and Caicos islands and the SE Bahamas tonight or early Sunday and continue on to Cuba Sunday Night and early Monday (9/8).

Tropical Storm Josephine fizzled out early today (9/6).

Gustav, Hanna, Ike and Josephine

The remnants of Gustav are bringing heavy rains and flooding to parts of the midwestern US.

Tropical Storm Hanna should start moving a little faster to the northwest, Hanna will be over the Bahamas today and the Southeast US tomorrow (9/5/08).

Ike became a Category 4 hurricane overnight, It's in the central Atlantic and poses no threat.

For now, Josephine is just a tropical storm in the eastern Atlantic.

Gustav, Hanna, Ike & Josephine

Tropical Depression Gustav is producing large rainfall amounts. The heaviest rain will be over northern Louisiana, northeastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri during the next several days.

Tropical Storm Hanna has temporarily weakened to a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds near 65 mph. It was centered over the southeastern Bahamas about 435 miles southeast of Nassau. Hanna is expected to intensify and re-organize during the week. Cosatal interests in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas should monitor the progress of Hanna.

Tropical Storm Ike is in the 'center' of the Atlantic Ocean. It is predicted to become a hurricane in the next day or two.

Tropical Depression 10 became Tropical Storm Josephine off the African coast today.

Hurricanes Gustav & Hanna, T.S. Ike

Hurricane Gustav has weakened to a Category 1 hurricane in South Central Louisiana. Gustav's winds can still cause damage, rainfall will continue to be very heavy and flooding may occur.

Hurricane Hanna is expected to move over the Bahamas during the next few days. Hanna is expected to approach the SE Georgia & NE Florida coast by Thursday, 9/3.

Tropical Storm Ike is located in the Atlantic between the Lesser Antilles and Africa. Tropical Storm Ike is forecast to become a hurricane later this week.
